Spirit Lake Resort is a 49,000-square-foot casino with a full complement of casino games and simulcast racing. There is a 64-room motel with luxury suites, meeting rooms, a collegiate swimming pool, training and exercise room, sauna, and steam room. To top things off there is a lake-view restaurant with fine dining. RV patrons can enjoy the newly completed RV park, and a golf course as well as a marina are in future plans. The casino is six miles south of Devils Lake on Highway 57. Devils Lake is one of the largest cities in North Dakota's lake and garden region. The lake itself offers 300 miles of shoreline. There is hunting, fishing, and boating. Old maps call it "Hunter's Paradise." Bison roam the area and there is an abundance of deer and elk. Campsites are also available. In winter, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling on 55 miles of trails are the sports of choice, and perch and wall-eye fishing can be done through holes in the ice.
