Nearby Roseau, which is approximately 20 miles to the east, offers the Roseau County Historical Museum and a pioneer farm and village restored to depict pioneer life. Roseau City Park, with RV hookups, has camping, canoeing, and hiking. There are winter sports at Hayes Lake State Park and for bird watchers the Roseau River Wildlife Management area is terrific.
Twenty miles to the west is Baudette, part of which extends to Canada. There are 65 miles of shoreline and 14,000 chartered islands. Don't forget to visit the Red Lake Wildlife and campground area.
